Permanent captain of the Sri Lankan cricket team Dinesh Chandimal, Head Coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and team manager Asanka Gurusinghe have been banned for 02 Test matches and 04 ODIs buy the ICC.

The ban has been imposed after they pleaded guilty for harming the spirit of the game and violating the ICC Code of Conduct. 

However, Chandimal, Hathurusinghe and Gurusinghe have decided to keep away from the ongoing Test series against South Africa. 

Although Suranga Lakmal has been appointed the stand-in Test captain of the Sri Lanka team, it is not clear as to who will captain the ODI team in Chandimal's absence.
