Railway Workers Set To Launch Another Strike From Midnight Today Demanding Government To Address Salary Anomalies

Railway trade unions have decided to launch a strike from midnight today.

Railway engine operators, guards, controllers and station masters are expected to take part in the union action.

The strike, the unions said, would at least last 48 hours.

"The strike is to exert pressure on the government to adopt speedy measures to address salary anomalies in the railway sector," a union spokesman said.

Although a Cabinet paper has been drafted, he said, its implementation has been delayed.
