Excise duty on cigarettes has been increased by Rs. 3.80 with effect from last night. 

Accordingly, prices of cigarettes are expected to increase by Rs. 5. 

The decision has been made by the Ministry of Finance and  Media, under directives of President Maithripala Sirisena.
