Harsha Expresses Shock And Dismay At Decision To Reduce Income Tax Ceiling Of Medical Doctors

Economic Affairs State Minister  Dr. Harsha de Silva today expressed shock and dismay at Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera's decision to reduce the income tax ceiling of doctors to 15%. 

"I am shocked!," de Silva tweeted, after news reports, quoting Heakth Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne, said the Finance Minister agreed to reduce the income tax ceiling on doctors. 

The announcement followed a discussion among the Finance Minister, the Health Ministers and specialist doctors, this evening.

"What about other doctors, pilots, lawyers? We had made some revisions n discussing expanding slabs so ALL hard working MIDDLE CLASS would BENEFIT; w progressive principle of taxation," de Silva tweeted.
