Parks Steet Mews Responds To Hidden Camera Allegations: Nadia De Silva Says She Was More Concerned With Destroying Compromising Footage

Popular fusion food restaurant Park Street Mews has responded to claims a hidden camera was found in the women’s bathroom, by saying there was no proof of the incident and that they were unable to detect any suspicious persons.

On August 11, Nadia de Silva posted on Instagram and Facebook about having found a camera hidden in the women’s bathroom at Park Street Mews. She said she had discovered the camera after it fell on her foot, and that she had destroyed the camera and the chip contained in it.

The post was circulated widely on social media, with many women displaying outrage at the fact that their privacy had been breached and such an upscale restaurant at the heart of Colombo.

In it’s response however, Park Street Mews in the first place draws attention to the fact that the bathroom in question was not the one attached to the restaurant but the general bathroom located at the end of the street, used by all patrons on the strip.

Furthermore, Park Street Mews said that upon investigation they had found that Nadia de Silva had no proof of the device, had not brought it to the notice of the security on the premises, but had only destroyed the camera and microchip and thrown in in the bushes.

Therefore, Park Street Mews said, upon further investigation of CCTV cameras and being unable to detect any suspicious looking individuals, they had decided to drop the matter.

However, they promised they would continue to closely monitor the situation to ensure the safety and privacy of their client.

Nadia de Silva meanwhile, in a Facebook post said she had been more concerned with destroying the camera and whatever footage of woman in compromising positions it may have accrued, than handing over the camera with its chip intact to authorities.

Many of the women commenting on her Facebook page and commended her for her foresight saying it was unfortunate that her allegations were not taken seriously enough by Park Street Mews.
