"Don't Worry About Money When Providing Relief To Flood Victims": President Tells Disaster Management Minister From Seychelles

President Maithripaa Sirisena telephoned Disaster Management Minister Duminda Dissanayake from Seychelles and instructed the Minister to provide relief to flood victims without delay, the President's Media Unit announced. 

The Media Unit also said the President also contacted Chief of Defence Staff Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne over the phone and instructed the latter to engage the defence forces in relief activities. 

Sirisena, according to his media unit, had told Dissanayake not to worry about money when providing relief. 

"The President expressed his deep concern about the people affected by the bad weather conditions, and extended his deepest condolences to the family members of the deceased persons," the President's Media Unit said, in a release. 

The President is currently on a three-day official tour to Seychelles. 

Several provinces in the country, including Western, North-western, Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle, Matara districts have been affected by heavy rains.
