Sirisena Talks To Modi Over The Phone A Day After Allegations Of RAW Involvement In So-called Assassination Attempt

President Maithripala Sirisena has spoken to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone,  a short while ago.

The conversation took place a day after he allegedly stated at the Cabinet meeting that that RAW, the Indian intelligence agency, was plotting to kill him.

The International and local media reports on the statement have been vehemently denied by the government ministers.

The President also met Indian High Commissioner Taranjit Singh Sandu this morning to "clarify" the media reports.
