President Sirisena Currently Chairing Meeting With UPFA Parliamentary Group: Cabinet Now Stands Dissolved According To Constitution

President Maithripala Sirisena is currently chairing a meeting with the UPFA Parliamentary group at the Presidential Secretariat, informed sources told Asian Mirror. 

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the current political situation with the outcome of the heated parliamentary session this morning. 

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has announced that Parliament has adopted a No Confidence Motion against Mahinda Rajapaksa and his purported government. With the Speaker's proclamation, the current Cabinet of Ministers stands dissolved according to Article 48 (2) of the constitution. 

A copy of the motion and the signatures collected by MPs in favour of the motion have been sent to President Sirisena by the Speaker for necessary action.
