Petitions Against Dissolution Of Parliament: Supreme Court Begins Hearing For Third Consecutive Day

December 06, 2018

The Supreme Court began hearing of the Fundamental Rights petitions against the dissolution of Parliament for the third consecutive day.

Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya presented his submission before the Supreme Court yesterday.

The case is being heard before a seven member bench presided over by Chief Justice Nalin Jayalath Perera.

It is still not clear whether the Supreme Court will give its ruling on the case today. Informed sources told Asian Mirror that there is a possibility that the judges may require more time to arrive at a final decision on the matter.
