President Appoints Reps To Three State Media Institutions: Appointments Made After Discussions Between President And Mangala

Representatives of President Maithripala Sirisena have been appointed to the senior management of three state media institutions, Asian Mirror learns. 

Saranga Wijeyaratne, a President's representative, has been appointed the Director General of the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC). He held the same position before the sudden government change on October 26. 

Sampath Deshapriyam, a former Editor of the Lakbima newspaper, has been appointed to the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL), as the President's nominee. He will function in the capacity of the Director Editorial. 

Rasanga Harishchandra has been appointed the President's representative to ITN, a state-TV channel. Harishchandra worked as the Director - Legal at ANCL, under the Rajapaksa administration before January 08, 2015. 

The appointments have been made after discussions between President Maithripala Sirisena and Media Minister Mangala Samaraweera.
