Sri Lanka Denies Entry To Nigerian Passengers In Fear Of Ebola

Nigerian travelers have been turned back from the Sri Lankan airport due to the threat of Ebola.

One traveler, Akinkunmi Adeseye, who spoke with Nigeria Media said that his family members arrived in Sri Lanka for a wedding, but were refused exit from the airport.

He said that, “They left Nigeria on an Emirates flight and got to Sri Lanka at about 10 am. But the Sri Lankan government didn’t allow them entry.

The passenger claimed that they were quarantined in the airport and that they were separated from the other passengers.

In an earlier instance the Sri Lankan government told media that they have added extra protocols and have taken measures to ensure that the deadly Ebola virus would not contaminate the Sri Lankan soil.

The government said that it have taken steps to ensure that no one carrying the virus would be allowed on Sri Lankan soil and that they will pay extra attention to passengers arriving from the African region.

The Ebola threat has struck the African region in a tidal wave and has claimed victims in high numbers.
