Dappula De Livera To Assume Duties As 47th Attorney General Of Sri Lanka: Appointment Unanimously Approved By Constitutional Council

The Constitutional Council has unanimously decided to appoint Dappula De Livera as the Attorney General. The Council recently decided to appoint him as the Acting Attorney General in place of Jayantha Jayasuriya who was appointed the Chief Justice by President Maithripala Sirisena. De Livera is a past pupil of St. Joseph’s College, Colombo and he is well-known in the field as a seasoned petition lawyer. He also led the Attorney General Department's team before the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Treasury Bonds issue. He will assume duties as the 47th Attorney General of Sri Lanka.
