President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa Acquitted Of D.A. Rajapaksa Museum Case: Court Orders Release Of Passport

President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa has been acquitted of the D.A. Rajapaksa museum case by the Colombo Special High Court.

Rajapaksa has been acquitted on the basis that legal action cannot be constituted against a sitting President.

The court has also ordered to release his passport which has been impounded.

However, other accused in the case are yet to be acquitted.

Rajapaksa was previously indicted for misappropriating government funds when constructing the D.A. Rajapaksa museum in Beliatta.
