CID Officers Unable To Locate Rajitha Senaratne: Allies Say Former Minister Will Surrender Himself To Police "At The Right Time"

December 26, 2019

CID officers investigating into the white van abductions controversy have found it difficult to locate former Minister Rajitha Senaratne who is at the heart of the issue.

The Colombo Additional Magistrate has already issued an arrest warrant to arrest Senaratne over the investigation. However, although a team of CID officers visited several houses belonging to Senaratne yesterday, they were unable to find the former Minister.

The court has already issued a travel ban on him preventing his exit from the country.

An anticipatory bail application filed by him is due to be taken up before the court on December 30. Sources close to Senaratne said the former Minister might surrender himself to the Police at the right time.

Two individuals who appeared alongside Senaratne at the controversial white van press conference have already been arrested by the Police.
