Sajith Requests President To Reconvene Parliament As Soon As Possible To Discuss The Current Healthcare Emergency

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa requested President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to reconvene Parliament as soon as possible to discuss the current healthcare emergency.

"This is a national emergency and we are not willing to play politics with this," Premadasa said, addressing a press conference in Colombo this morning.

"What we are experiencing is a deadly situation and Parliament needs to discuss preventive measures," he added.

"I can guarantee that the Samagi Jana Balawegaya will extend its fullest support to prevent the spread of Corona Virus in Sri Lanka," he added.

Premadasa also added that the President had adequate powers to reconvene Parliament and discuss the current situation.
