Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said as a proactive measure to curb fake news that causes unnecessary panic, the government together with the Health Promotion Bureau has introduced an API to distribute accurate and official info to the public and media.

The Prime Minister said detailed Information will be available on the health promotions bureau website.

The Police have warned strict action against those spreading fake news about the Corona outbreak in Sri Lanka.
