First Sri Lankan Patient Detected With COVID19 Discharged From Hospital: PM Praises Efficiency Of Healthcare Workers

The first Sri Lankan patient detected with COVID19 was discharged from the hospital earlier today.

He was receiving treatment at the IDH. It was believed that the patient, a tourist guide, contracted the virus from an Italian national toured in the country.

His family members were also quarantined.

"The skill and tireless efforts of our health care providers and the efficiency of our health care system have yet again showcased its ability in this crisis," Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said, commenting on the matter.
