Sri Lankan prominent politicians wished for the speedy recovery of UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson who is currently in hospital.

Johnson was transferred to an intensive care unit of a London hospital after his symptoms worsened last evening.

"My best wishes to PM @BorisJohnson for a speedy recovery. Our prayers are with you and the people of #UK during these trying times," President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said.

"Wishing UK Prime Minister @BorisJohnson a speedy recovery. Glad he is receiving excellent care and is in safe hands. It's a tough time for everyone and I fervently believe that we will come out of this crisis together, stronger," former Minister Sagala Ratnayaka tweeted.

Many world leaders have also expressed support to the ailing UK Prime Minister.
