Karuna's Controversial Claim About Killing 3000 Soldiers In One Night: "There Is No Basis To Arrest Me, I Am Now In Democratic Political Stream"

Former Deputy Minister Vinayagmoorthi Muralitharan alias Karuna Amman said he did not want to apologize for his controversial statement about "killing soldiers" as everyone knew of his past.

"There is no provision to arrest me on that statement," he said speaking to a Sinhala newspaper today.

"Similarly, the UNP and the JVP have also committed many crimes in the past. Will anyone take action against them now," the former Deputy Minister asked.

Muralitharan says he has now joined the democratic political stream.

The former Deputy Minister and the former Vice Chairman of the SLFP contests the upcoming Parliamentary election from his own party. However, he has pledged support for the SLPP.
