The COVID19 patient who escaped from the IDH hospital has been apprehended near the Colombo National Hospital this morning.

National Hospital authorities said he had hailed a trishaw and come to the National Hospital. The driver of the trishaw has already been sent for quarantine.

The patient has been identified as a person who was under rehabilitation at the Kandakadu centre.

He had reportedly escaped from the IDH hospital at 2 AM today.

Natiional hospital authorities said strict protective measures were adopted when apprehending the patient.
