Advisory committee to protect Archaeological sites appointed

Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has appointed an advisory committee to safeguard archeological sites.

This comes in the wake of the controversy surrounding the Kurunegala Mayor who allegedly demolished a building with archeological value.

However, President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa previously appointed a Presidential Task Force to protect archeological sites in the Eastern province.
