The Samagi Jana Balawega (SJB) party has taken swift and decisive action in response to the arrest of Amita Bandara, the party's organizer in Polgahawela, who was apprehended by the police in Rambukkana yesterday on charges of possessing over a kilogram of heroin.

SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara made a formal announcement today, disclosing that the party has suspended the membership of Amita Bandara with immediate effect.

In addition, Bandara's organizership within the party has been revoked. The decision, according to Bandara, will undergo formal ratification at the upcoming Working Committee meeting of the party.
