Court Restrains CEB Trade Union Leader and Others from Entering Key Government Premises Amidst Ongoing Protest

The Fort Magistrate's Court has issued an order preventing the entry of Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) Trade Union leader, Ranjan Jayalal, and others into key government premises, including the Presidential Secretariat, President's House, Finance Ministry premises, and the Central Bank, today.

This decision comes in the midst of a protest currently underway outside the CEB Headquarters, where unions are demanding the scrapping of the proposed Sri Lanka Electricity Bill.

The court order, issued as a precautionary measure, aims to maintain order and security in the designated government locations during the course of the protest. The decision to restrain specific individuals from entering these premises underscores the heightened tensions surrounding the proposed Sri Lanka Electricity Bill, which has sparked widespread concern and opposition from various quarters.
