Sri Lanka Navy Readies Warship for Red Sea Deployment to Safeguard Key Sea Lanes in Red Sea Amidst Houthi Attacks

In response to a presidential order, a Sri Lanka Navy warship is prepared to set sail for the Red Sea to contribute to efforts in safeguarding sea lanes from Houthi threats, as announced by the Sri Lanka Navy.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphasized the nation's commitment, stating that Rs. 250 million will be allocated every fortnight to support the deployment of this ship to the Red Sea.

This move underscores Sri Lanka's dedication to international maritime security and upholding the stability of crucial sea routes.
