Ten Health Services Unions Announce 48-Hour Strike Over Allowance Dispute

Ten health services unions, including Public Health Inspectors, have declared their intention to initiate a 48-hour strike starting tomorrow at 8 a.m. The unions are demanding a Rs. 35,000 allowance, following the government's decision to increase the Disturbance, Availability, and Transport (DAT) allowance provided to doctors.

The unions argue that the recent increase in the DAT allowance for doctors has created an imbalance and has not been extended to other health professionals.

The unions, representing various health service sectors, have expressed their dissatisfaction with what they perceive as a lack of parity in the government's approach to allowances.
