Stalin Criticizes Modi for Inaction on Sri Lanka Fishermen’s Issues

In a scathing critique, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin lambasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for failing to apply pressure on the Sri Lankan government regarding the plight of Indian fishermen.

Stalin questioned why the Union Government hadn't pursued the restoration of traditional fishing rights in the Palk Straits with the same fervor it displayed in protecting business interests, specifically mentioning Gautam Adani.
The rebuke follows Modi's recent remarks attributing fishermen's hardships to the "sins" of the DMK. Stalin countered, demanding accountability for the government's actions over the past decade and challenging the notion that a state government could unilaterally cede territory.
He further pressed for explanations regarding the Union Government's efforts to retrieve the Katchatheevu island and condemned the silence over Tamil Nadu fishermen's arrests and boat seizures by Sri Lanka.
