Showers Expected Across Sri Lanka

The National Meteorological Centre forecasts showers in multiple regions of Sri Lanka this evening. In the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Central Provinces, showers are expected during the afternoon or night. Additionally, the Eastern and Uva Provinces, along with the Polonnaruwa district, may experience several spells of showers.

Misty conditions are anticipated in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva Provinces, as well as in the Kalutara, Galle, and Matara districts in the morning. In the sea areas off the coast, showers or thundershowers are likely from Trincomalee to Hambantota via Batticaloa, and from Colombo to Hambantota via Galle during the afternoon or night.

Wind speeds could reach up to 40 kmph at times in the sea areas off the coasts extending from Puttalam to Kankesanthurai via Mannar. Moderate conditions are expected in these areas, while other sea areas around the island will be slightly rough.
