A 50-year-old patient at Ragama Teaching Hospital has tragically died shortly after receiving a vaccine, prompting an investigation by the Ministry of Health.
The patient, admitted for an ear-related condition, reportedly passed away after receiving the 'co-amoxiclav' vaccine, typically used to combat bacterial infections. Hospital director Dr. Sampath Ranaweera confirmed an internal investigation is underway.
