The Court of Appeal has postponed the hearing of the bail petition filed by Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella until May 7th.

This decision comes after the petition aimed to challenge the remand order issued by the Maligakanda Magistrate, which initially denied bail to Rambukwella.
Furthermore, the petition seeks to invalidate a certificate issued by the Assistant Superintendent of Police regarding accusations under the Public Property Act.
Originally scheduled for today, the official announcement of the order will now be deferred until the 7th, as clarified by Justice D. N Samarakoon.
Respondents in this case include the Maligakanda Magistrate, Inspector General of Police, Director of Criminal Investigation Department, among others.
During the proceedings, Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama represented the Attorney General, while President's Counsel Faiz Mustapha represented Keheliya Rambukwella.
