Passenger Arrested with Gold Gel Worth Rs. 40 Million at BIA

 

A 25-year-old passenger arriving from Dubai at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) in Katunayake was apprehended by officers from the Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs.
The individual was found to be carrying 'Gold Gel' concealed in parcels hidden within his shoes and underwear.
The seized substance, weighing close to 2 kilograms, is estimated to be valued at approximately Rs. 40 million. Investigations into the incident are ongoing under the purview of the Narcotics Control Unit of Sri Lanka Customs.
