Opposition Leader Ranil Wiremesinghe along with several other UNP MPs will visit landslide-affected Koslanda tomorrow morning, party sources told Asian Mirror.
Opposition Leader of the Uva Provincial Council Harin Fernando, UNP Parliamentarian Ruwan Wijeyawardena and a few other MPs will form the UNP delegation visiting Koslanda tomorrow morning.
The opposition Leader will monitor the progress of the ongoing rescue operations and look into the condition of the displaced people who are presently n camp.
The opposition Leader’s visit to Koslanda will come a day after President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s visit to the same area.
President Rajapaksa in his visit o the area instructed authorities to expedite rescue operations and improve the living standards of the displaced people. He also instructed the National Child Protection Authority to take care of the 75 children whose parents are missing due to the incident.
According to DMC sources, more than 350 people are still missing with official death toll standing at 192.
