Bodu Bala Sena stated that common opposition candidate Maithripala Sirisena’s candidature is a result of an international conspiracy.

Speaking at a rally on Friday at Hyde Park, Colombo, BBS General Secretary Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thera has said that the same conspiracy that was launched in 2010 was taking place against Mahinda Rajapaksa this time.

He further mentioned that this trap was laid in the previous election by making the former army commander contest against the president who gave the political leadership to win the war.

This time, the General Secretary of the president’s own political party was made to contest against Rajapaksa, Gnanasara Thera has added.

He also added that even though Maithripala Sirisena is the common candidate, his campaign has many leaders, which only confuses the campaign.

However, the BBS will not support any candidate in the presidential election, Gnanasara Thera added.
