'President Scolded Me After My Speech At Father's Funeral' : Hirunika

Western Provincial Council Member Hirunika Premachandra claimed that President Rajapaksa scolded her over the phone on the day of her father’s funeral, after she had made a speech that day, local media reported.

She made this revelation speaking at the women’s convention which gathered in support of common candidate Maithripala Sirisena yesterday at Viharamahadevi Open Air Theater.

She added that the president had asked if she was trying to topple the government by making unnecessary speeches.

Speaking further, Premachandra had claimed that the president had ordered Hambantota Mayor Eraj Fernando to force her and her mother out of their home. Eraj Fernando is the infamous “toy pistol” mayor.

Hirunika’s father Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra was killed on October 8, 2011.
