Former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga has said that the opposition has a plan if President Mahinda Rajapaksa does not leave office after he is defeated in the presidential election.
Speaking to BBC Sandeshaya, Kumaratunga refused to give details of the action plan for such an event.
She also said that she was getting reports that the government was planning violence and election fraud but it will not be able to defeat the public opinion. She has added that the opposition is ready for that as well.
Furthermore, Kumaratunga has told BBC Sandeshaya that she regretted her decision to appoint Rajapaksa as Prime Minister in 2004, thus opening the way for him to be the president of the country.
Meanwhile, she has also denied that she has any connection with the Tamil Diaspora.
