Police Media Spokesperson SSP Ajith Rohana said that Mankulam police division which was opened in 2010 after the war, was removed yesterday (19).

Ajith Rohana made this remark while issuing a statement to a local Television station.

“Mankulam police station has been assigned to other divisions”, he said.  

Accordingly, the six police stations of Mankulam Police division has been assigned to Mullaitivu and Vavuniya Police divisions.

With the removal of Mankulam Police Division the number of police divisions in the North - which earlier stood at 43 - now stands at 42.
