Criminal Investigations Departmet (CID) questioned the wives of Sajin de Vass Gunewardena and former Chairman of Ports Authority Priyath Bandu Wickrema earlier today.

When contacted by Asian Mirror Acting Police Media Spokesperson ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that they were questioned over complaints of financial irregularities against their husbands.

Their statements were recorded under the money laundering act, ASP Gunasekara said.

Vass Gunewardena was elected to parliment in 2010 and was the monitoring MP of Ministry of External Affairs during the former government. meanwhile Priyath Bandu Wickrema was appointed as SLPA Chairman in 2008.
