UPFA Parliamentarian and former deputy minister Sarana Gunawardena was further remanded till March 30 by Attanagalle Magistrate Courts.
Attanagalle Magistrate Kavindya Nanayakkara gave this order when he was produced before the courts on Monday (23).
Gunawardena was summoned to the CID office on March 12 to record a statement where he was later arrested over charges of criminal breach of trust. He was produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate on the same day, who ordered him be remanded until March 23.
The former Deputy Minister Sarana Gunawardana was charged for breaching an agreement to supply a stock of scrap iron worth Rs. 9.6 million.
