Former Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga was summoned to the Criminal Investigations Department this morning to be questioned over vehicles still missing from the Presidential Secretariat.
It has been revealed in investigations carried out so far that 18 vehicles belonging to the presidential secretariat were still missing.
Meanwhile, former Transport Director of the Presidential Secretariat Keerthi Samarasinghe Dissanayake was arrested in mid February by Criminal Investigations Department over missing vehicles at the Secretariat.
A few weeks after the presidential election, 53 vehicles belonging to the Presidential Secretariat were found by Police, abandoned at a yard in Colombo. However, the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa’s aides kept saying that the vehicles were stationed at the yards belonging to the government.
