Colombo Chief Magistrate, Gihan Pilapitiya ordered the Colombo Crimes Division on Monday to arrest UPFA Western Provincial Councilor Nauzer Fowzie and present him before the Court over an incident where he had allegedly threatened a businessman with a firearm.

The Magistrate reprimanded the Police for not taking prompt action with regard to this incident which took place three years ago. Police stated that they were unable to proceed as the Attorney General’s Department failed to provide the legal advice necessary in this regards.

Nauser Fowzie is the son of UPKA MP A.H.M. Fowzie.
