Democratic People's Front leader Mano Ganesan said that it has been decided to form a new alliance to represent Tamils who live in the entire country.
Speaking at a discussion this morning, Ganeshan stressed that they came to this decision since the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) only raises its voice when it comes to the problems of Tamils who live in Northern and Eastern provinces.
"TNA never speaks for Tamils outside Northern and Eastern provinces. Therefore we have decided to form a new alliance for entire Tamil population in the country," he stated.
However the process is in discussion level at the moment, he assserted.
There are more than 3 million Tamils live across the country, Ganesan pointed out. These people also have the right to form an identity and nationality as Sinhalese and Muslims do, he added.
