UPFA MP Basil Rajapaksa arrived at the Parliament today, for the first time since the Presidential Election on January 8.
Rajapaksa, who was the former Economic Development Minister, left the country immediately after the presidential election. He returned to the island in April but was arrested by the police FCID for alleged financial fraud in the Divi Neguma Department during his tenure as Economic Development Minister.
Basil Rajapaksa was in remand custody for over six weeks before he was allowd bail recently. However, he was undergoing medical treatment at a private hospital until yesterday.
