Over 30 SLFP MPs To Break-off If Rajapaksa Is Given Nominations

Informed political sources told Asian Mirror that 36 prominent Sri Lanka Freedom Party leaders including former MPs have decided to break off if former president Mahinda Rajapaksa is given nominations to contest in the upcoming Parliamentary General Election.

These SLFP members include almost all UPFA MPs who joined President Maithripala Sirisena during the early stages of his presidential campaign, with the exception of Professor Rajiva Wijesinha.

Meanwhile, former president Chandrika Kumaratunga has vehemently criticized the current negotiations on giving nominations to Rajapaksa.
