Former UPFA MP R. Duminda Silva on Wednesday said that the SLFP cannot win the forthcoming general election without the support of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Speaking at a public meeting in Homagama, Silva hinted that he will contest forthcoming general election under the ticket of pro-Rajapaksa faction. He also said that his objective was to form a new SLFP government under the leadership of Rajapaksa.
Silva refuted all allegations against him and said he will not stop the service he is conducting for the society at any cost.
“Some people could not bear the service I have rendered the society. That is why they came up with false allegations against me,” Silva stated.
Duminda Silva attended the events in Medamulana yesterday, where former president Mahinda Rajapaksa announced his candidacy for the forthcoming general election.
