Sony International has issued a formal Cease & Desist letter to a Sri Lankan television channel, alleging serious Intellectual Property (IP) rights violations regarding one of the network’s ongoing programmes.

The legal notice demands an immediate halt to the production and broadcasting of the content in question. Sony has stated that failure to comply will result in immediate litigation without further warning, including claims for significant damages.

According to internal sources, the notice has triggered a crisis within the station’s management. Executives are reportedly scrambling to respond, fearing the loss of the substantial financial investment already poured into the disputed programme.
