Six police officers arrested in connection with the alleged assault of a Catholic priest in Gampaha have been further remanded until 29 January 2026.

The officers were produced before the Gampaha Magistrate’s Court today (26), following which the court ordered their continued remand.

The Magistrate has also directed that an identification parade be conducted on 29 January 2026.
