The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has decided to exclude additional costs arising from the ongoing coal situation when revising electricity tariffs.
In a statement, the Commission said that only reasonable costs incurred for the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity would be taken into account in tariff determinations.
It further noted that during the most recent tariff revision, additional costs linked to the coal situation or any other unreasonable expenditure were not approved.
The PUCSL added that it had unanimously decided to continue this approach in future revisions, excluding any coal-related costs or other unjustified expenses from electricity tariff proposals.
