DGL Free Zone (Pvt) Ltd., a purpose-built, 135,000 sq. ft. facility was officially opened on the 19th of August 2026 as the latest venture under the Dart Global Logistics Group. The state-of-the-art facility has been developed to support international businesses through multi-country consolidation, value-added logistics services and regional supply-chain solutions.

This unique logistics centre is a modern, high-capacity logistics and value-addition facility, incorporating a 10-level racking system with total capacity equivalent to approximately 450 forty-foot containers of cargo. The operation is structured across three chambers, enabling the facility to accommodate multiple commodity verticals. More than 25 cargo docks support rapid loading and unloading in line with market requirements.

In addition to ambient storage, the facility is designed to serve temperature and humidity-controlled requirements with dedicated value-addition centres, located on mezzanine floors, designed to support services ranging from labelling, pick-and-pack and related activities to more complex value-addition operations.

Operational visibility is supported by an international Tier-1 warehouse management system together with RFID scanning technology, providing improved inventory control and timely visibility of cargo movements.

The facility has been developed at crucial juncture when regional supply chains are evolving and demand for flexible logistics solutions is increasing. The present Middle Eastern situation, together with increased demand from regional markets, highlights the potential for Sri Lankan free zones to play a greater role in regional supply chains.

The DGL Free Zone facility addresses the specialised needs of key business segments by providing international-class warehousing infrastructure, consolidation capabilities and value-addition services within a free-zone environment.

“DGL Free Zone represents an investment in Sri Lanka’s ambition to strengthen its role as a regional logistics and supply-chain hub. By combining high-capacity warehousing, multi-country consolidation, value-added services, technology-enabled inventory visibility and the ability to support specialised cargo requirements, the facility is positioned to provide international businesses with a flexible logistics platform in Sri Lanka,” said Mr. Jude Wijesundera, Group Managing Director and C Group CEO.
