The Bank’s Profit Before Tax (PBT) stood at Rs. 32.6 billion for the period, reflecting a continued strengthening of its earnings capacity despite evolving domestic and global economic conditions.

Total operating income increased by 17.7% to Rs. 95.2 billion from Rs. 80.9 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year, while net interest income rose by 18.9% to Rs. 82.4 billion from Rs. 69.3 billion.

People’s Bank Chairman Prof. Narada Fernando said the results demonstrated the Bank’s strength, resilience, and financial stability despite geopolitical developments and continuing global economic uncertainty.

Chief Executive Officer and General Manager Clive Fonseka said the performance reflected the Bank’s resilience and strong underlying fundamentals amid changing domestic and global economic conditions.
