BTS has strengthened its position as one of the world’s most commercially successful touring acts, generating $433.2 million from just 38 shows on its ongoing “ARIRANG” world tour.
According to U.S. music trade publication Billboard, the South Korean supergroup had sold 2.3 million tickets and generated approximately 598 billion won by August 11, surpassing its previous touring record well before the current tour reaches its conclusion.
The figure is more than double the $213.9 million earned by the group’s “LOVE YOURSELF” tour, previously its highest-grossing concert tour.
BTS recorded particularly strong results from its European shows in July, earning $102.5 million from eight performances and securing second place on Billboard’s monthly Top Tours chart.
The group trailed only The Weeknd, whose 16 shows during the same month generated $124.4 million.
Big Hit Music, the HYBE label managing BTS, highlighted that the group achieved revenue comparable to The Weeknd despite performing only half as many shows.
BTS also became only the third artist to exceed $100 million in monthly tour revenue in multiple months, following Beyoncé and Bad Bunny.
The group’s concerts at Stade de France in Paris, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, Allianz Arena in Munich and King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels were all ranked among Billboard’s 10 highest-grossing boxscores for the month.
The Paris concerts ranked third after attracting a combined audience of 185,000 and generating $30.6 million in ticket revenue. The London, Munich and Brussels performances placed fifth, sixth and seventh, respectively.
With the “ARIRANG” tour scheduled to continue through the first half of next year, Big Hit Music expects its final revenue and attendance figures to significantly surpass all previous records set by the group.
BTS will continue the tour with four concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 1, 2, 5 and 6.
