Severed Human Head Found Near Riverbank in Moratumulla

Police have discovered a severed human head near a riverbank at Kure Place in Ihala Indibedda, Moratumulla.

The discovery was made following a tip-off received through the Police Emergency Hotline, 119. Police said the head was found behind a carpentry workshop close to the riverbank.

The remains were severely decomposed and appeared to have been partially eaten by animals.

Officers from the Mount Lavinia Scenes of Crime Officers unit and a team from the Police Special Task Force inspected the location.

The remains have been transferred to the Panadura Hospital, while further investigations are underway.
